The Mensa is a competition project I worked on during an internship with the Italian design firm LAD alongside PRINCIPAL ARCHITECT Francesco Napolitano AND DESIGNER Gianfranco Toso.

Taking formal inspiration from the mountainous region of Tyrol in Northern Italy, the project serves as a campus entrance and student dining space at a small private high school.

The two-story structure incorporates interior linear greenhouses where produce is grown for the school's food, as well as passive air conditioning and an additional mezzanine space.
